The Huskie Academic Support Center will host an undergraduate employment open house on April 7 from 5-6p.m. I have attached an announcement and would appreciate it if you could share the announcement with your undergraduate population. We are beginning the Fall 2021 recruitment process for Writing Center coaches, Supplemental Instruction leaders, and Peer Academic Coaches.

Do you like to help your peers with their writing or math or study skills?
The Undergrad Employment Open House provides an opportunity to meet with Huskie Academic Support Center staff to gain a better understanding about employment as a coach/SIL on campus. The participants will move among breakout rooms for the Writing Center, Peer Academic Coaches, and Supplemental Instruction in Blackboard Collaborate. Chance to win 1 of 4 $25.00 Amazon gift cards.
· Welcome: Explain how the event will work: breakout rooms, raffle, etc.
· Breakout rooms: Participants will spend roughly 10 minutes in each breakout room where they can learn more about specific aspects of working for the Huskie Academic Support Center and be able to ask questions.
· Closing: Confirm how to proceed if they want to apply for a position and announce the raffle winners.
Each breakout session will focus on a particular aspect of Huskie ASC
1. Writing Center – skills, policies, procedures
2. Supplemental Instruction – skills, policies, procedures
3. Peer Academic Coaches – skills, policies, procedures
4. Training – what happens before coaches can work with clients
