The Chicago Park District is once again hiring seasonal positions on the Natural Areas Crew. The Natural Areas Crew is responsible for ecological restoration and community engagement support across the majority of the South and Southeast Side natural areas. Duties include invasive species management; Nature Play construction and maintenance; native plant installations; prescribed burns; and community and volunteer stewardship support.
We are currently hiring for seasonal Natural Areas Workers. The hourly rate is $20.04, and the position last approximately 6 months. Hiring will start in April and continue through May.
Candidates must be able to perform manual labor and be comfortable working in all weather conditions. Candidates will be required to obtain a pesticide license and apply herbicides. Interested applicants must apply online by Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021.

This seasonal summer job opportunity would be relevant to students/alumni who are studying ecology, biology, natural resource management, plant biology, botany, environmental studies, environmental science, etcetera. This paid position can be used for student internship credit. Students would have to provide the appropriate paperwork for the staff supervisor to fill out.
