Gender & Climate Change employment opportunity

CCAFS is searching for a gender and climate change research leader! Could you be the person we need?

Application deadline: 10 September 2014. As the new Gender and Social Inequality Research Leader with the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) you will find that the opportunities are immense!

The Research Leader will be able to undertake their own research in farming communities, while at the same time shaping a research effort on three continents that has a budget of approximately US$10 million. The person can be conducting group interviews with farmer groups one month, hosting a global research seminar on gender and agriculture in the next, and providing expert input into a UNFCCC side event in the month thereafter.

The successful candidate will be able to work with gender experts and other social scientists based in numerous CGIAR Centers, as well as in partner organizations.He/she will coordinate work and research across all of CCAFS five regions and four thematic areas.

CCAFS is now looking for a highly qualified candidate with a PhD in related field. The candidate needs to have global work and research experience, especially from a leading position, and willingness to travel extensively.
