Summer is just around the corner, and NIU STEM outreach is gearing up for another spectacular summer of STEM camps.
This year I’ll need to hire around 30 engaged and enthusiastic instructors and counselors, and I need your help to make it happen!
We’ll have camps running from mid-June through the first week of August (6 weeks of camp + 2 weeks of training), and we have camps for students of all ages.
Counselor pay starts at $250/wk, and Instructors start at $350/wk.
Counselor responsibilities include supervising students and assisting with activity sessions, both during the day and overnight.
Instructor responsibilities include preparing and leading activity sessions.
Room and board is also included for all staff who need it.
I’m specifically looking for instructors with experience needed to lead sessions in the following areas:
- Any type of Education (Secondary or Elementary, any subject)
- Programming (Intro: Block Based, LEGO EV3, Scratch, Finches, etc.)
- Programming (Advanced: C++/Java, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.)
- Life Science (Biology, Botany, Anatomy…)
- Health Science (PT, Audiology, Nutrition, Nursing…)
- Engineering (Mechanical, Robotics, woodworking, problem solving)
- E&M (Electronics, Wireless tech)
- Earth & Space Science (Geology, Astronomy, Geography)
- 3D Design (CAD, 3D Printing, maker spaces)
