Now accepting Newman Civic Fellowship nominations!

Newman Civic Fellowship

Nominations due February 1

We are now accepting nominations for the 2021-2022 Newman Civic Fellowship, a yearlong program that recognizes and supports outstanding community-committed students at Campus Compact member institutions.

The fellowship is a yearlong opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to nurture their assets and passions, engage in collaborative action, and act to address inequality and polarization. Through the fellowship, Campus Compact provides in-person and virtual learning opportunities focused on building the skills fellows need to serve as effective agents of change.

The Newman Civic Fellowship honors the late Frank Newman, one of Campus Compact's founders and a tireless advocate for the civic engagement of higher education. In the spirit of Dr. Newman's leadership, we are seeking nominations of undergraduate or graduate students who engage in collaborative action with others in order to create long-term social change, take action in addressing issues of inequality and political polarization, and demonstrate the motivation and potential for effective long-term civic engagement.
