NIU's Fall LGBTQ+ Ally Training

We are now offering registration for NIU’s Fall LGBTQ+ Ally Training.  Due to space limitations, each individual attending our training must complete our registration process.  All training dates scheduled are in person, there are no hybrid or virtual options for these sessions.

Illinois Conservation Police Inquiry

 

HAZWOPER Course May 16 - 20, 2022

The Department of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment offers an OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) course each year for credit for NIU students (GEOL 408) or at a very low price of $100 for the 40-hour course and $25 for the 8-hour refresher course. This year we are offering the course in May (May 16 - 20th). The course is required for any job that includes some aspect of hazardous waste. This course usually costs between $250 and $500 and looks very good on resumes. 

 

The class is taught by an experienced OSHA trainer. Every student will get to spend time in a Level A suit with the self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). It's a lot of fun!  We will take all necessary precautions related to COVID including thoroughly disinfecting equipment between use.
