This is the
first time the City will hire a full-time coordinator position and we are very
excited! There is already so much great work happening here in Oberlin. The
City of Oberlin is an international leader on sustainability. Oberlin is
striving to meet the ambitious goal of climate positivity by 2050 (with
the College having a goal of 2025). The City has has been recognized by the
White House as a Climate Action Champion. Great strides have been made such
as halving city-wide carbon emissions since our baseline,
forming a campus-community resilience task force, adopting a zero-waste plan
and complete streets resolution to name a few.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
SUSTAINABILITY COORDINATOR
The
City of Oberlin is accepting applications for a Sustainability
Coordinator. Duties include facilitation and promotion of OMLPS
sustainability goals in the community, and development, management and
promotion of environmental sustainability initiatives and programs. The
Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for overseeing portions of the
Oberlin’s Climate Action Plan by developing, advancing, monitoring and
measuring results of the sustainability strategies within the Plan, and for
administering and promoting the Sustainable Reserve Fund Program in the Oberlin
community and managing the financials of the Sustainable Reserve Fund. The
Sustainability Coordinator will also be responsible for special projects and
programs, as assigned. The position reports directly to the City Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business
administration, project management, environmental studies and/or green
technology, or related discipline from an accredited college
and three (3) years of previous experience in energy services,
environmental sustainability, project management, related field or an
equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the skills
and abilities necessary to perform the job. Previous experience in
environmental sustainability, energy services or government administration
is desirable. The position requires a valid state of Ohio driver's license.
Starting Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000/year D.O.Q.
