NIU STEM Outreach is gearing up for our biggest summer of camps ever, and we need your help!
We are looking for enthusiastic students to work with us as both counselors and instructors from June through the first week of August.
Counselor positions start at $250/wk, and responsibilities include supervising campers during sessions, walking between locations, and at mealtimes. Counselors can be any major, and anyone who is interested is welcome to join us.
Instructor positions start at $350/wk, and responsibilities include leading lessons and hands-on activities. Instructors are needed for a variety of STEM subjects including engineering, sci-fi, electronics, and more. Ideal candidates are students who are studying relevant subjects, and who are engaged in projects and activities related to those subjects. Instructors are not responsible for designing curriculum, but new ideas are always welcome.
All camp staff receives 3 complimentary meals any day they are working, as well as a room for the week if needed. (We do need a certain number of staff to stay over depending on the number of campers that week.) Camps run Sunday through Friday, though our student staff only work 5 of the 6 days each week.
