Recruiting PhD applicants for NSF funded program on Energy Transition

The Department of Resource Economics at UMass Amherst is recruiting PhD students to join a PhD program funded by the National Science Foundation, Elevating Equity Values in the Transition of the Energy System (ELEVATE). The program will train students to solve the technical, equity, and climate challenges in the energy transition.   We are looking for outstanding students with demonstrated passion for sustainable energy, equity, social justice and climate change solutions. The program is interdisciplinary and includes the fields of Anthropology, Computer Science, Economics, and Engineering among others.  

 

Candidates will be evaluated based on: 1) Strength of preparation for the PhD program in Resource Economics 2) Interest in sustainable energy research 3) Demonstrated commitment to advancing social equity through lived experience or volunteer and professional activities.
