The Forest Service has an entry-level position available for a hydrologic technician at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. It is advertised under two announcements (but one position):
https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/590941000
https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/590941200
This is a full time “permanent seasonal” position, with a “13/13” appointment. This means the person selected will be expected to work at least 13 pay periods (6months) per year, but may be furloughed up to 13 pay periods per year depending on workload needs. There is no education requirement listed, but this is still a good opportunity for a recent grad interested in stream/wetland work (including possibly some biology-related work) looking for an entry level job. Potential applicants can call Michael Redmer with questions at 815-423-2114.
