Oceans Research Institute is offering an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students across different universities to join its team of researchers in Mossel Bay, South Africa. Oceans Research Institute already collaborates with numerous South African and international universities.
During our month long experiential field research program, students gain hands-on practical training in conducting a wide range of research projects, from population to movement ecology projects on large marine megafauna (including white sharks and cetaceans), from intertidal community biodiversity assessments to fishery related research. Students are not just observers but rather they are an integral part of the research team, collecting data, while gaining valuable insight and training in the latest research methods (including ROV and drones) and seamanship, to equip them with the skills necessary to be successful marine researchers.
We would like to build more formal relationships with potential collaborators like you.
There are a number of potential options to build such a relationship:

There are a number of potential options to build such a relationship:
• individual students attending the program,
• integrating our program into a university course
• bringing a class for the program
• joint research opportunities for professors
If you feel that this opportunities and/or collaboration is something you or your students might be interested in, I am happy to answer any questions you or your students might have.
