Carnow Conibear is offering internship opportunities this summer for grads and undergrads looking for experience in the Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Engineering field. our Program includes the following training objectives and is 70% field work with experienced staff on these types of projects. Internship is a paid position, 40 hours a week, although that can be flexible if needed on hours.
Internship Training Objectives
Objective #1 – Asbestos Containing Materials
a) 2 Hour Asbestos Awareness Training
b) Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) sampling
c) Building Material Surveys and investigations
Objective #2 – Lead Based Paint
a) Lead Paint Awareness Training
b) Lead Sampling methods (air, dust, water)
c) Paint Film Surveys and investigations
Objective #3 – Indoor Air Quality
a) Learn common sampling parameters
b) Learn to utilize different instruments
c) Participate in IAQ Surveys at k-12 Schools
Objective #4 – Respiratory Protection
a) Get Baseline Occupational Physical
b) Receive Training on Respirators and uses
c) Assist Industrial Hygienist with performing Fit Test.
Objective #5 – Reporting Process
a) Receive training on report writing
b) Participate in onsite construction paperwork management.
c) Assist with compiling, distributing and tracking reports for issue
