Internship Opportunities
Undergraduate Research
Assistantship (URA) proposal entitled Politics of Environmental, Health,
and Safety Regulation in the US and Europe has been approved for Summer
2012. Dr. Brendon Swedlow will mentor a student assisting with his research
for 10 hours per week for 15 weeks. The student will receive $10 per
hour. For summer URA positions, URA mentors can hire a student for 15
weeks between May 16 and August 15, 2012. For more information about the project

Please note that a job vacancy
is currently posted on the Chicago Park District website. It is listed as "Intern ‑ Beach Water Quality Research". This summer seasonal position will involve
collecting and analyzing samples for a pilot project to test a protective beach
barrier that is funded by a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Grant. Field work will take place at Chicago
beaches, lab work will take place at the USGS Lake Michigan Ecological Research
Center in Porter, Indiana. The position
