This position is located in Region 5, Air & Radiation Division, Air Programs Branch, Air Permits Section in Chicago, IL.
At the entry level of this position, you will:
- Evaluate the adequacy of State and local regulations, covering a variety of sources of air emissions based on a wide range of information from diverse sources and with varying degrees of quality and reliability, including the use of air quality models and emission factors.
- Evaluate State and local air pollution regulatory development programs and ensure the Clean Air Act requirements are met. Provide technical advice to resolve problems.
- Draft responses to inquiries from State officials, citizens, and industrial representatives concerning the interpretation and application of policy directives and regulations related to air regulation development.
- Research new air pollution control technology and ambient air quality modeling techniques for criteria pollutants and air toxicants for the industries located in the Region.

course requirements for a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters,
professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a
qualifying educational institution or technical education program within the
preceding two years. Preference eligible veterans unable to apply within two
