Student Internship Opportunity with Whiskey Acres

Whiskey Acres Distilling Company, Illinois' first estate distillery, is looking for a STUDENT production assistant to learn our Seed to Spirit process. 

Under the guidance of the Head Distiller, the production assistant will be tasked with:

-Managing a mash cook from start to finish. This includes making precise chemical adjustments, utilizing standard operating procedures to manage cooling and heating systems, and forklift operation (training provided).

-Making observations and adjustments to fermentations
-Observing the head distiller to learn the basics of distilling operations. At conclusion of internship, the production assistant will be given the opportunity to create a unique recipe to be mashed and distilled
-Assisting in barrel management including hydrating, filling, repairing and emptying barrels
-Assisting in bottling spirits including line setup, line cleanup, spirit proofing and TTB record management and compliance
-Prepping orders for shipment
-Keeping the production areas clean and performing other general janitorial duties.
-Assisting tasting room staff to prepare tour areas for the public.

This is an unpaid position that requires 10-15 hours per week. Scheduling is flexible around your class schedule. If possible, we will work with your student program to help you earn college credit.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college program and must be at least 18 years old.
