Description
Summer student will perform office and field work related to duties of the Environmental Protection Group. The position will provide a broad experience related to environmental compliance.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Field work will consist of:
- Routine and special project environmental sample collection
- Inspection and maintenance of environmental monitoring sites, sample equipment, and a large inventory of supplies
- Inspecting oil sources
- Reviewing air emission sources and associated data
- Evaluation of water systems and update of drain database
- Assisting in other environmental programs
Office work will consist of:
- Updating and managing web content (including inputting data into databases)
- Assist with analyzing field data
- Assisting in maintenance of Environmental Protection Group files
- Data input
Qualifications
- Computer skills required for database entry and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work safely outdoors
- Interest in environmental sciences
- Detailed oriented (e.g. following procedures)
- Writing and communication skills
- Respects, understands and values individual differences that embody the principles of diversity.
- Abide by all environment, safety, and health regulations.
