Summer Research Opportunity - LAKES REU

LAKES REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) program is looking to recruit students for this summer. The topic of the program is interdisciplinary research into sustainable watershed management. Students receive a $4000 stipend for the 8-week program and a great research experience.

They are looking to work with geography students with interests in community based watershed management, rural geography, agriculture and land use. There is mixed research methods used - qualitative research and GIS. The research could include: interviews with land managers and conservationists, archival research in the history of land use, or GIS and modeling of erosion risks and sites for potential restoration.
