Autumn on the Prairie at Nachusa is their annual public event and is this coming Saturday Sept. 20th. It's free except for $5 parking and there are bison tours, and other tours, a few of which are led by graduate students in my lab. I narrate the bison tours from 12-4. They also have arts and crafts, food, and merch as well. Check it out!
Also, BIOS folks, since Nachusa hosted our retreat for free, if you're looking for a way to thank them, you could donate to the science endowment that Friends of Nachusa has, which gives out thousands in grants to support especially student research projects, or you could donate your time by volunteering to help them collect seed for future restorations and/or remove weeds from current ones.
