STARS & Resources Internship with AASHE (remote position)

We are excited to share that AASHE is seeking applications for a STARS & Resources Intern through Monday, April 15th!

This is a PAID student internship ($12.75 per hour) and preference will be given to students at an AASHE member institution. The intern will work from their virtual home office up to 40 hours per week during summer 2019 and then up to 10 hours per week during the 2019-2020 academic year.

The Resources Intern assists in submission review of AASHE’s Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) and provides administrative and technical support in the ongoing development of AASHE resources, particularly related to AASHE’s online resource library, the Campus Sustainability Hub. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Assists in the review of STARS report submissions
  • Identifies and submits new resources for inclusion in the Campus Sustainability Hub
  • Assists in data collection for AASHE publications
  • Assists in maintaining organizational data in AASHE’s online data management system
  • Uses basic computer skills to assist in the management of online resources
  • Implements marketing and outreach campaigns to increase submissions to the Campus Sustainability Hub in collaboration with Programs and Marketing staff
  • Contributes to ongoing creative development of AASHE Programs through participation in regular team meetings
  • Assists in building internal and external stakeholder engagement related to AASHE resources
  • Develops and maintains familiarity with trends in campus sustainability by following AASHE and campus sustainability news
  • Demonstrates a commitment to sustainability and diversity in the workplace
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:
  • Student at a higher education institution in the United States or Canada
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in higher education sustainability
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Strong quantitative research skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong internet researching skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Collaborative attitude and strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with and experimenting with technology
  • Experience with working in teams and facilitating groups
  • Knowledge of Google Apps and Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Commitment to advancing sustainability in higher education
  • Familiarity with AASHE’s Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS)
