National Great Rivers Research & Education Center Internship

The National Great Rivers Research & Education Center (NGRREC) seeks project proposals to provide research experiences for undergraduate interns during the summer of 2017.

NGRREC is looking for research projects in ecology, management, education, policy, or human dimensions related to great rivers and their watersheds. We seek to represent a diversity of topics in river and watershed level research and encourage college and university faculty, state and federal government agencies, and non-profit organizations working within the Mississippi River Watershed to submit research proposals to be matched with a summer college intern.

The 2018 program once again hopes to host several college students for a ten-week paid internship. The number of projects selected for the 2018 cycle will be determined based on available funding. Project advisors will have a project budget of up to $1,500 for project supplies, travel (fieldwork and Symposium attendance), and contractual services. The program begins with students participating in a week-long Short Course and orientation at NGRREC's Field Station May 21-25, followed by a nine-week internship.  During the internship period, students will work directly with project mentors from host organizations selected by proposals to this solicitation. The program concludes with a Symposium on July 30 and 31, 2018 during which each student will present their summer work to their fellow interns and project advisors.
