Upcoming conference
2012 Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Science Conference
“Linking
Research to Management at Indiana Dunes National
Lakeshore in a Rapidly Changing
Environment”
Wednesday, November 28,
2012
Indiana University Northwest, Gary, IN
The conference will highlight previous, on-going, and future research on aquatic ecosystems, biodiversity, invasive species, and restoration ecology associated with the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and adjacent lands. A key objective of the conference is to communicate and discuss how the research can help inform decision-making on best management practices for the region.
The format will include 10-minute oral presentations and a poster session on implications and applications of research to resource management. A dedicated discussion will follow each session to allow exchange of ideas. The conference will provide an opportunity for participants to have a conversation about the park's scientific research and its applications to conservation of the region's increasingly threatened biodiversity and
ecosystem functions.
